About Us

If you have come to this page, I guess you are probably looking for the stuff that is normally called a vision or purpose statement or whatever.

Like a lot of churches, we have a statement, which is, "we seek to be a genuine expression of God’s reality". But we more often talk about simply being genuine. We want to be real. We don’t like fake church or fake Christianity. I guess nobody would say they actually try to be fake, but we are working really hard at getting rid of any fakeness in our lives and in our church.

So we focus on the idea of being genuine. That means that we do a few things a little differently.

Our Sunday services still generally look like most modern churches, except that we focus a little less on what is happening on the stage, and concentrate more on an interactive-ness. We try to get involved in the messages and sometimes spend time discussing the lessons rather than simply listening to uninterrupted preaching. The idea is that we are trying to get God’s word interacting with our lives in a dynamic way.

Another aspect of trying to be genuine is that we don’t demand that our attendees have to minister at OUR church. We believe that God has gifted everyone and called them to ministry... but our church might not have the specific ministry God has called you to. So we encourage our people to find where God has called them, and to get involved in that ministry – even if it is at another church or organization. We want our people to be genuinely fulfilling their calling, rather than trying to squeeze into a mould to suit our church.
